Three parallel incised lines across the forehead provide the principal graphic detail within an otherwise deliberately spare composition.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eConstruction and wear\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe mask is relatively shallow and only gently curved. Old holes along the side edges relate to a former suspension or wearing system. The reverse preserves clear chopping and chisel marks, while the apertures and perimeter have been softened by repeated handling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003eSurface and condition\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wood carries a dark brown-black patina with earthy discoloration, small age cracks and areas of abrasion.
