The piece dates from the mid to late Showa period (1970s\/1980s).\n\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\n\u003cp\u003e\nThe Kokeshi is notable for its iconic red 'Tehen' halo motif on the head, which is very characteristic of the Togatta school. The body is slender and cylindrical, hand-turned from indigenous Japanese wood and richly decorated with layered red chrysanthemums (Kiku).
