Antique & Vintage Buddha Statues for Sale
Buddha Statues from the Major Sculptural Traditions of Asia
Shop Buddha statues from Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Tibet, China, Cambodia and Laos, from compact devotional figures to substantial temple sculpture. This collection focuses on Buddha images in seated, standing, walking and reclining forms. Each product page presents the individual object, its price, photographs, dimensions and condition, with our researched attribution.
The category is deliberately narrower than Buddhist Statues, which also includes bodhisattvas, protective deities and other figures. Here the focus is the Buddha image itself and the many ways regional workshops interpreted its canonical features.
Read the image before the date
Mudra, posture, robe, ushnisha, hair, facial modelling and pedestal establish the basic image type. A Bhumisparsha Buddha from Myanmar can share the same gesture as a Thai or Himalayan example while differing completely in proportion, casting or carving technique and stylistic vocabulary.
Browse by material
Explore Bronze Buddha Statues for copper-alloy casting, gilding and patina, or Wooden Buddha Statues for carved, lacquered and polychrome traditions. Buddha Heads provides a closer view of facial style, hair treatment and ushnisha types.
Browse by region
Regional groups include Thai, Burmese, Nepalese, Tibetan and Chinese Buddha statues. Each region uses its own sculptural language, and later revival styles are catalogued separately from earlier prototypes where the evidence permits.
Age, origin and authenticity are assessed item by item; neither patina, wear nor a familiar style name is treated as a stand-alone dating test.
Browse by gesture and figure
Explore Bhumisparsha Mudra Buddha Statues, with the earth-touching gesture, and Stone Buddha Statues for carved sculpture. For Chinese Budai figures, visit our dedicated Laughing Buddha Statues collection.
What determines the price and value of an antique Buddha statue?
The price of an antique Buddha statue reflects the individual object: its sculptural tradition and period, quality of modelling and craftsmanship, material and technique, condition, surviving original finish and documented provenance. Size and bronze weight are useful measurements, but they do not determine value on their own. A small, finely worked devotional bronze and a large later temple image need different comparisons.
For an antique Tibetan bronze Buddha, we examine the figure and its attributes, casting and finishing, gilding, base construction, inscriptions and condition together. Our team combines this object study with microscopy and UV examination. The product description records the attribution and condition of the specific sculpture; evidence of repairs or replacement parts matters when comparing its quality and value.
Buying a researched antique Buddha
The current asking price, dimensions and detailed photographs are shown on each product page. An asking price is a retail offer, rather than proof of a previous sale or the value of a different statue. Compare the individual objects in our Tibetan Buddha statues collection and bronze Buddha statues collection, using the documented features and condition as well as the price.
If you would like advice on a piece in our collection or wish to discuss an assessment of your own statue, contact our team. For an assessment, clear photographs of the front, back, base, marks and condition details, together with measured dimensions and any known history, provide the starting evidence.
Before choosing a sculpture
Use our collector’s checklist for buying antique Buddha statues to compare photographs, attribution, condition and available ownership history. For a work in this collection, ask our team for the individual object documentation.
