Artistic Analysis
In this work, the German artist Oliver Plehn combines raw charcoal drawing for the deep textures of the skin with subtle glazes of yellow oil. The undiluted, pure oil paint creates dramatic shadows that envelop the figure. The result is a contrast between human vulnerability and the restrained strength of a political icon.
Curator's Note — Antonio Sánchez (1819 Art Gallery)
"Plehn's collection acts as a mirror of the fragility and strength inherent in the human spirit. The technical dexterity reveals not only mastery of the medium but also an intense emotional connection between the artist and his subject."
