This is an authentic Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche) statue from the Tibetan/Himalayan tradition, executed in bronze and originally fire-gilded. The statue depicts Guru Rinpoche in his classical meditation posture, with vajra mudra, the ritual bowl with figure, and the khatvanga staff along the shoulder. The iconography is completely correct and consistent, without later or decorative additions.
The surface is predominantly warm brown patinated, with heavily worn but clearly visible remnants of original fire-gilding. These gold remnants are visible not only on the exterior but also on protected zones and on the inner rim, confirming that the statue was originally fully gilded. The interior shows deep layered, natural oxidation with multiple mineral layers, irregular wall thickness, and old casting marks. This rules out modern production and confirms a dating in the 19th century.
The statue was clearly manufactured for religious use and not as a later decoration. The combination of iconography, construction, patina, and remnants of gilding makes this a solid and honest Padmasambhava, suitable for a serious collector or enthusiast of authentic Tibetan statues.
Height 34.5 cm × width 19 cm, weight 3.3 kg.
