Antique Hand-painted Watercolor – L'oratoire de Saint-Guirec Ploumanac'h – Signed R. Blossier – 36.5 x 44 cm
Specifications: Hand signed by R. Blossier | Located in Ploumanac'h | Original Watercolor | Includes Wooden Frame
We proudly present a particularly atmospheric, hand-signed maritime masterpiece of the French School: an original antique hand-painted watercolor by the artist R. Blossier, depicting the legendary Oratory of Saint-Guirec on the pink granite bay of Ploumanac'h in Brittany (France). This powerful coastal landscape dates from the early 20th century (ca. 1910-1930). With total dimensions of 36.5 by 44 cm, the work is in fabulous, unrestored, and 100% original condition, housed in its historic wooden frame.
Verified Signature & Iconic Breton Coast
This hand-painted artwork stands out for its atmospheric composition and instantly brings a warm, historic, and soothing French atmosphere as exclusive wall art to any modern or classic interior:
- Signature of the Master: In the bottom right of the surf is the pristine, original signature "R. Blossier" with the handwritten location indicator "Ploumanac'h" above it. The inscription is completely one with the historical paint and paper surface.
- The Holy Oratory: Centrally in the foreground stands the famous medieval granite chapel on its rock foundation amidst the changing tides. The warm sand, ochre, and brown tones of the rocks contrast beautifully with the soft green hues of the seawater.
- Unrestored Reverse: The reverse side displays the original wooden frame, oxidized to a deep golden-brown over the decades, with its bone-dry texture and authentic metal fixing pins, guaranteeing its legitimate age.
