Estimated value: €450 – €750. Antique Thai bronze Buddha hand executed in Vitarka mudra, the gesture of teaching and the transmission of knowledge. This type of hand was originally part of a larger Buddha statue and was kept separately after the loss or dismantling of the head statue. The hand is slenderly modeled with elongated fingers and subtle wrist decoration, characteristic of traditional Thai sculpture. The surface displays a dark, weathered patina with clear signs of wear consistent with older bronze. The object is fully solid cast and feels relatively heavy for its size. Southeast Asia, Thailand. Dimensions: height 26.7 cm, width 8.6 cm. Weight approximately 600 grams.
Each object is examined before it is offered: material, casting or carving technique, surface, and signs of age are compared with documented references. You will receive a certificate of authenticity and an official invoice detailing the period, material, and available provenance.
Fully insured worldwide shipping in museum-quality packaging. Returns are sent to our Dutch address and you have a 14-day cooling-off period.
