Monumental Thai Buddha head with a tall ushnisha, flame finial, elongated earlobes and finely modelled hair curls. The face is broad and serene, with clearly defined brows, half-closed eyes and full lips.
The surface displays an old layered patina with natural wear, minor casting irregularities and signs of use. Macro photographs show irregular curls, recessed patina and old surface deposits. The underside was closed or adapted in the past for display on the present metal stand.
Age-related wear, surface scratches and variations in patina consistent with age and use. The stand is later and is not part of the original sculpture.
Each object is examined before it is offered: material, casting or carving technique, surface, and signs of age are compared with documented references. You will receive a certificate of authenticity and an official invoice detailing the period, material, and available provenance.
Fully insured worldwide shipping in museum-quality packaging. Returns are sent to our Dutch address and you have a 14-day cooling-off period.
