Japanese Kusuri Tansu Wooden Medicine Cabinet with Compartments
This special Kusuri Tansu combines traditional Japanese design with practical storage space. Originally, such cabinets were used to store herbs, medicinal ingredients, powders, and other valuable supplies within traditional East Asian medicine. Today, they are appreciated as characterful collector's items and atmospheric interior pieces.
The cabinet features multiple drawers, the lower compartments of which are internally subdivided into small pockets. This layout is characteristic of apothecary and medicine cabinets, where various ingredients could be stored in an organized manner and separated.
