Japanese seated Buddha in meditation, cast in solid bronze and dated before 1900. The figure has snail-shell curls and a robe covering both shoulders. Height 7.5 cm, width 7 cm, weight approximately 700 grams.
The object was stamped in The Hague around 1900, establishing that it was already in the Netherlands by that time. The stamp dates its documented presence there; it does not establish a 16th–17th-century casting date. Our attribution is Japan, before 1900.
