An impressive and powerful Shiva Nataraja statue from India, crafted in bronze and dating from the early 20th century. Shiva is depicted here in his cosmic dance, surrounded by a halo of flames symbolizing the eternal cycle of creation and destruction. Beneath his foot lies the dwarf Apasmara, the symbol of ignorance being overcome.

This statue was traditionally cast using the lost-wax technique, which is clearly visible in the open base and the irregular internal structure. This confirms that this is not modern mass production, but handcrafted work with character and history.

The natural patina, with dark and light greenish oxidation, gives the statue an authentic appearance. Wear is visible on the higher parts, while the deeper zones have retained their original color. The combination of size, weight, and complex composition makes this a striking and decorative object.

A strong piece for lovers of Indian art and spirituality, with a powerful presence and clear symbolism.
