Antique bronze Buddha statue, seated in meditation with the right hand in Abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and reassurance. Traditionally hollow cast with an open bottom, in which natural oxidation, mineral deposits, and signs of age are visible, consistent with long-term ritual use.
The reverse side shows rich hand-incised and carved robe decoration. The lines vary in depth and direction and show patina in the grooves, confirming that these decorations were applied before natural aging. This type of reverse finish rules out a Thai origin.
The surface shows a layered, natural patina with dark brown bronze tones and green oxidation zones. No modern lacquer, artificial patina, or later treatments observed. Construction, ornamentation, and wear point to a pre-industrial Sino-Himalayan or Tibetan-related workshop.
