Antique Tibetan Lotus Mandala Thangka – Sacred Ranjana Scripture – 61 x 65 cm / 9 kg

Specifications: H 61 × W 65 cm | Weight: 9.00 kg (Including solid frame & glass) | Original Mineral Pigment | Verified Historic Border Route

We proudly present a highly fascinating art-historical and geopolitical masterpiece from the Himalayan region: an original, antique Tibetan Mandala Thangka (monastery painting). This rare religious canvas dates from the early 20th century (ca. 1900-1920) or older, weighs no less than 9 kg including the heavy, high-quality wooden frame, and is in an unrestored antique condition full of pure, historical characteristics.

Sacred Iconography & Holy Ranjana Scripture

This hand-painted monastic cloth excels in its geometric precision and instantly brings a mystical, serene, and highly exclusive atmosphere as wall art to any high-end interior:

  • The Ranjana Mantra Heart: The center of the cosmodynamic Mandala is formed by an eight-petaled lotus flower, painted in traditional mineral pigments (cinnabar red, malachite green, and indigo blue). Each leaf and the central golden heart bear a gold-raised seed syllable in the sacred Ranjana script (Lantsha), a historical script reserved for powerful Buddhist mantras.
  • Fair Monastery Patina & Craquelé: The entire paint surface is covered with a dull, historical haze – the direct result of decades of exposure to the soot from yak butter lamps and ceremonial monastery incense in the Himalayas. The mineral lacquer layers display a beautiful, fine-meshed network of natural age-related craquelé.

The Irrefutable Proof of the Border Route (Back)

The back of the canvas provides rock-solid, historical proof of the route this sacred object traveled from the Himalayas to the West. After its seizure in Tibet, the cloth was transported to the Chinese interior and administratively marked in ink with the text "Guangdong Province, Sihui District" (the well-known processing center for Oriental art treasures). From there, the cloth was transported to the international export port of Canton, as evidenced by the brutal early transport marking "CANTON" with a logistics code at the bottom of the bone-dry linen. A unique and honest historical document, completely free of nonsense.
