Estimated value: €12,000 – €18,000. Antique fire-gilded bronze Buddha statue from Tibet, dating from the 17th–18th century. The Buddha is depicted seated on a double lotus base, making the teaching hand gesture, Vitarka mudra. The statue is traditionally hollow cast and finished with original fire-gilding (mercury gilding) in high-karat gold, clear remnants of which are visible over the entire surface and along the inner edge of the base. The gilding shows natural wear on prominent parts and retains gold residue in recessed areas, consistent with prolonged ritual aging. The combination of size, weight, and fire-gilding is characteristic of Tibetan religious statues from this period. Dimensions approximately H 40 cm x W 23.4 cm, weight approximately 5.8 kg. An authentic Buddhist statue with clear art-historical and material value, offered at a significantly lower selling price.
