This antique 19th-century Thai bronze Buddha statue embodies the pure, flowing elegance of the classic Sukhothai style, crafted during the Rattanakosin period. Standing at 47.5 cm tall and 31.0 cm wide, this sculpture possesses a monumental and serene presence. The Buddha is seated in the iconic Bhumisparsha mudra on a stylized double row of lotus leaves (Padmasana).

This sculpture displays the ultimate characteristics of the Sukhothai art renaissance: a beautifully elongated, oval face with a refined aquiline nose profile, downcast eyes in deep meditation, and a prominent, flaming Ketumala (flame finial) on the ushnisha reflecting transcendent spiritual energy. Over the left shoulder falls the traditional Sanghati (monk's robe), which forms a characteristic, bifurcated pleat just above the navel.
