Expertise & Decoration

This ensemble, consisting of a fishbowl (jardinière) and a conical column, is crafted in the famous cream-colored Satsuma earthenware with the characteristic fine craquelé. As visible in the photos, the piece is richly decorated using the Moriage technique, in which the paint and gold are applied in relief. The exterior displays lively scenes of figures in a landscape, framed by lavish floral patterns. The interior of the bowl is a work of art in itself, featuring hand-painted Koi carp swimming among aquatic plants – a powerful symbol of perseverance and good fortune. Delivery by 1stBuddha

With a total height of over 90 cm, this Satsuma set is an absolute statement piece for a stately hall or a luxurious living space. It unites Japanese refinement with the allure of antique export pieces. Due to the size, the weight of 16 kg, and the fragility of the antique earthenware, we recommend specialized transport exclusively for this object. We will deliver this item personally. A unique opportunity for the collector of high-quality Asian antiques.
