Recent microscopic analysis (Dino-Lite) confirms the authenticity of this 19th-century panel. The fine network of craquelé in the levkas background and the egg yolk tempera pigments is irregular and deeply rooted, an irrefutable sign of natural aging. The top features the original title inscription in Old Cyrillic. The wooden panel is solid and shows characteristic traces of manual work on the reverse side. An authentic and weathered object for the serious collector.
