Authentic Vintage Hijiori Kokeshi – Masaie Sato (Dated 1985)

This is a rare and documented Dento Kokeshi from the traditional Hijiori lineage, crafted by the highly esteemed master artisan Masaie Sato (1925–2003). This item is a particularly historic piece, precisely dated April 21, 1985, and featuring a unique notation of its production location in the master's private studio.

The design is an excellent representation of the Hijiori style, recognizable by its characteristic, block-shaped head with a glossy black top and expressive, smiling facial features. The body is richly decorated with vibrant red chrysanthemums (Kiku) and deep green leaves, framed by neat red and green/blue ring bands. At the bottom, there is an artistic, extremely detailed inscription with the master's signature (Kao), the date, and the place of origin.
