Carving and ornament
The figure is seated with the right hand descending in the earth-touching gesture and the left resting open in the lap. The headband and robe borders are carved in relief and set with green and mirrored glass accents.
Burmese workshop tradition
The elongated face, long earlobes, compact curls and raised ushnisha place the sculpture within the Shan-Mandalay visual tradition around the turn of the 20th century. Natural wear to the gilt surface reveals older red and darker lacquer beneath.
Condition
Age-related wear with localized losses to gilding and glass inlay, together with old shrinkage cracks in the wood. The underside retains a dark older finish and visible construction traces.
