This is a 19th-century Tibetan Buddha statue in bronze with clear remnants of original fire gilding in 24-carat gold. Over time, the gold has naturally worn away and is visible in the folds and recessed areas of the statue, not as a modern layer on top but truly interwoven with the surface. This gives the statue that warm, lived-in appearance that is only seen in old gilded work.
The posture is both serene and powerful, with a classic meditation position that is immediately recognizable within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. The bronze feels heavy and compact for its size and shows no characteristics of modern production. The inside and underside show a rough, old structure with natural oxidation, consistent with traditional Tibetan casting from the 19th century.
This is not a decorative object without history, but a serious devotional statue intended for long-term use. An honest, authentic Tibetan Buddha with visible age and character.
