Inner Silence

This massive bronze statue embodies the ultimate state of meditation. Seated in the Dhyana Mudra, with both hands resting in the lap, this object serves as a powerful anchor point for inner peace and focus. The robe displays the tight, parallel folds over the left shoulder that are characteristic of the Rattanakosin period. Where the mind often wanders into chaos, the imperturbable serenity of this Buddha reminds us of the power of silence and reflection.

Curator Analysis

This heavy bronze casting exhibits an authentic, natural patina. Contrary to earlier erroneous documentation regarding a closed base, the open base clearly shows the original, raw mineral casting core. This is crucial evidence of the traditional lost-wax method and its great age. Absolutely no modern synthetic coatings or restorations were found. A powerful and unpretentious collector's item.
