This is a monumental, 5-piece altar ensemble of museum scale. With a total height of approximately 200 cm, this ensemble forms an impressive architectural arch structure that originally served as a temple pediment. This is not a detached fragment, but a rare, complete set that forms the entire framing of a Buddha altar niche.
Crafted in the classical Burmese Mandalay style (circa 1890–1910), the ensemble is hand-carved from solid teak wood, richly gilded with gold leaf, and inlaid with hundreds of faceted mirror glass and mosaic stones (Hman-zi shwe-cha). The deep, three-dimensional pierced carving with flaming Kanyut scrolls creates a majestic spectacle.
Dimensions of the ensemble:
| Component | Dimensions (H × W) |
| Central Headpiece (Pediment) | 114.5 cm × 114 cm |
| Side Wings (2x) | 102 cm × 30 cm |
| Support Pillars (2x) | 75 cm & 64.5 cm × 15 cm |
The reverse side is finished with authentic Thit-see lacquer and features the original V-shaped miter joints, proving its historical integrity. An impressive centerpiece of museum allure for the serious collector or gallery.
