Rare and harmonious pair of Nepalese fire-gilded bronze Buddhas, crafted in the traditional Newar style of the Patan workshops. Both figures are depicted seated in meditation, with one hand in Abhaya Mudra symbolizing protection and reassurance. Beneath the naturally darkened patina, clear traces of original mercury fire-gilding are still visible, creating the characteristic contrast typical of devotional Nepalese bronzes from the early 20th century. The set forms a powerful and spiritual whole and is exceptional as a pair that has remained together.
