Standing Chinese Buddha statue crafted in gilded bronze, depicted in Abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection, tranquility, and inner certainty. The right hand is raised with an open palm, while the left hand rests alongside the body, a classic posture that directly refers to Shakyamuni Buddha as the bringer of peace and reassurance.
The statue stands on a carefully modeled lotus base and displays a flowing monastic robe with soft, natural folds. The proportions are balanced and restrained, without excessive decoration, befitting Chinese devotional Buddhism. The surface features a warm, weathered gilding with natural wear, consistent with older use and not a modern finish.
The underside is closed and features an engraved mark, indicating traditional production for religious use in a domestic or temple context. With a height of 46 cm and a weight of approximately 4 kg, this is a solid and easy-to-handle statue, suitable for placement on an altar or as a spiritual focal point in an interior.
