Tibetan Vajrasattva Statue Bronze Himalayan Two-tone Patina 22 cm
This heavy bronze Vajrasattva statue from the Himalayan tradition is a powerful spiritual object with a striking two-tone patina. The combination of gold-colored bronze, deep reddish-brown lacquer patina, and traces of green oxidation gives the statue a weathered, ritual appearance. With a height of 22 cm and a weight of 1.8 kg, it feels compact yet very solid. Vajrasattva, also known as Dorje Sempa in Tibetan, is the Buddha of purification within Vajrayana Buddhism. His presence is associated with releasing negative energy, cleansing old karma, and restoring inner clarity. This makes the statue particularly suitable for an altar, meditation room, or interior where tranquility, protection, and spiritual focus are central. The iconography is rich and recognizable. In his right hand, Vajrasattva holds the vajra, the diamond or lightning symbol that stands for indestructible power, compassion, and spiritual method. In his left hand rests the ghanta, the ritual bell that symbolizes wisdom, emptiness, and insight. Together, these attributes represent the balance between compassion and wisdom, a core idea within the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.
The statue is decoratively elaborated all around with a high crown, graceful robes, floral ornaments, and a broad lotus base. The red patina layer gives the object visual depth, while the gold-colored accents on the face, hands, and attributes reinforce the ritual character. The reverse side shows clear green copper oxidation in the deeper zones, consistent with an older, copper-rich bronze object with natural aging.
This is not a flat decorative statue, but an object with a real presence. Due to its substantial weight, rich color contrasts, and spiritual significance, it is appealing to collectors of Himalayan art, enthusiasts of Tibetan Buddhism, and interiors where a powerful, symbolic focal point is desired.
