This early Chinese bronze Buddha statue belongs to an exceptional category within Buddhist art and is presented online as a technically examined masterpiece. The statue displays a serene, powerful presence with refined proportions, subtly modeled hands, and a characterful facial expression typical of early Ming period sculpture. Weighing nearly nine kilograms and standing approximately 46 cm tall, it possesses a strong physical presence that is immediately striking.
Extensive technical inspection of the underside, surface, and internal structure reveals a fully closed base, natural multi-layered patina, and remnants of original fire gilding in protected zones. The casting structure and corrosion behavior suggest a pre-industrial lost-wax technique. The six-character Yongle mark is cast in integrally and shows the same aging as the surrounding bronze, which is consistent with an early Chinese production context. This piece is presented not only as an art object but as an example of in-depth research and documentation. It forms an important reference point within the collection and underscores the focus on authenticity, analysis, and historical insight. An exceptional object that radiates both spiritual tranquility and historical depth.
Dimensions: H 46 cm — Weight: approx. 8.9 kg.
