This antique Thai Buddha statue is cast in bronze and depicts the Buddha seated in the Bhumisparsha mudra, the moment of enlightenment in which the earth is invoked as a witness. The statue dates from the late 19th to the early 20th century and has a calm, balanced appearance characteristic of Thai bronzes from this period.

The bronze displays a natural, deeply built-up patina with light wear on the protruding parts, consistent with age and long-term presence. The base is hand-closed and shows a rough internal structure, indicating traditional casting technique and ruling out modern production. The weight and proportions give the statue a solid, understated presence without appearing heavy or massive.

This type of Buddha statue was traditionally placed in domestic shrines or temple settings and is associated with inner stability, determination, and protection. Due to its size, the sculpture is suitable as a centerpiece in a room with an emphasis on tranquility and meaning. Dimensions: height 44 cm, width 32.5 cm
