Estimated value: €450 – €750. Antique Thai bronze Buddha hand in Vitarka mudra, the gesture of teaching and transmission of knowledge. This type of hand was originally part of a larger Buddha statue and was preserved separately after the loss or dismantling of the main statue. The hand is slenderly modeled with elongated fingers and subtle wrist decoration, characteristic of traditional Thai sculpture. The surface shows a dark, aged patina with clear signs of use, consistent with older bronze. The object is cast entirely solid and feels relatively heavy for its size. Southeast Asia, Thailand.
