Forensic Analysis & Evidence

  • Engraved Symbolism: The back of the robe features complex, hand-engraved cloud and flame motifs, characteristic of Ladakh iconography.
  • Mineral Crystallization: White sand minerals and traces of ritual ash are visible in the deep grooves of the engravings and along the seams. This mineral build-up is the result of a natural aging process of over 250 years.
  • Fire-Gilding: Remnants of the original fire-gilding are specifically present in the protected areas of the engravings. The raised areas show authentic mechanical wear.
  • Construction: The statue was produced using segment casting, with clear oxidation visible around the historical connection seams.
  • Ritual Content: The interior is originally ritually sealed and contains only historical sand-minerals without modern materials.

Iconography

The Bodhisattva is depicted in Namaskara Mudra (prayer posture), a symbol of devotion and reverence. The refined crown and the engravings on the back make this object an important spiritual heritage from the West Tibetan region.

Supplied with official appraisal report and forensic dossier of internal and external analyses.
