This exceptional antique Balinese temple support (Siku-Siku) is a beautiful example of traditional woodcarving from the early 20th century. The object is crafted from a single block of solid hardwood and originally served as an architectural support element in a temple or a stately home in Bali, Indonesia.

Unique Iconography:
The carving depicts a graceful celestial goddess (Dewi) wearing a traditional ceremonial crown (Gelungan). A very special feature of this particular example is the acrobatic figure at the base, rendered in a dynamic, almost impossible pose – a rare motif within Balinese mythology that gives this piece extra collector's value.

Authenticity & Condition:
The sculpture still contains significant remnants of the original polychrome painting in the characteristic mineral colors green and red. The weathered wood grain, natural oxidation, and visible chisel marks confirm the age and authenticity of this historical artifact.

  • Material: Solid hardwood with original polychromy.
  • Dimensions: 56 cm height x 14.5 cm width.
