Chinese wooden good luck statue 'the fisherman with carp'

Estimated value approximately €250 – €350.

Chinese wooden sculpture of a fisherman with carp, hand-carved from solid wood. The figure depicts a man with a traditional hat and carrying basket, with a large carp over his shoulder. In Chinese folk culture, the carp symbolizes prosperity, perseverance, and good fortune. This type of sculpture belongs to Chinese folk art, intended for domestic decoration and good luck symbolism, not for religious veneration. The style, patina, and carving suggest a traditional handcrafted object from China, presumably 20th century.
