This monumental standing Medicine Buddha (Bhaisajyaguru) is crafted from solid bronze and dates from the mid-20th century (approx. 1930-1980). The statue stands on an elaborately carved lotus throne and holds a medicine bowl in its left hand, the traditional attribute of the Buddha of Healing. The warm bronze color is beautifully accentuated by natural blue-green copper patina that has developed over decades.
