Estimated value: 600. Gilded bronze Green Tara from the Himalayan tradition, executed as a fine and compact devotional statue. The statue depicts Tara seated on a lotus base, with an elegantly modeled body, richly detailed crown and jewelry, and a calm yet alert expression befitting her role as a protective and active bodhisattva. Microscopic examination confirms original fire gilding with irregular, naturally aged gold layers applied directly to the bronze. Wear patterns are consistent with long-term ritual use, where raised areas are polished more softly and recessed zones retain the gold. The facial painting is original and consists of multiple ancient pigment layers for the eyes and lips, applied on top of the gold and aged together with the gilding. UV examination shows only dust reaction and rules out modern lacquer layers, overpainting, or restoration. The underside is traditionally closed, consistent with authentic Himalayan work. This statue is technically completely clean and represents an authentic gilded Green Tara from the Himalayan region. Dimensions: height 14.6 cm, width 9.7 cm. Weight approximately 0.7 kg.
