This hand-signed traditional Naruko Kokeshi is crafted from solid Mizuki wood (dogwood) and belongs to the iconic Naruko school from Miyagi Prefecture in Northern Japan. This special piece was precisely dated to July 29, 1976 and was handmade by the renowned Kokeshi master Hikoji Sato. The graceful torso decoration with stylized chrysanthemums, the colorful rings on the crown, and the friendly face make this an exceptionally refined example of traditional Japanese folk art.
