Estimated value: €1,800 – €2,200
Kashmiri gilt bronze Buddha in Bhumisparsha mudra. The statue has a serene and powerful presence with closed eyes, a broad chest, and a compact, well-proportioned body. The monastic robe is simply and functionally modelled with soft, heavy folds, characteristic of Kashmiri and North Himalayan temple images. A cast-in-place halo is behind the head. The surface shows natural wear and discoloration of the original gilding, consistent with its age and prolonged ritual use. The statue is hollow cast and feels solid and authentic.
