Antique bronze Buddha statue, seated in meditation with the right hand in Abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and reassurance. Traditionally hollow cast with an open bottom, showing natural oxidation, mineral deposits and signs of age, consistent with prolonged ritual use.
The back shows richly hand-scratched and carved robe decoration. The lines vary in depth and direction and show patina in the grooves, confirming that these decorations were applied before natural aging. This type of back finish excludes a Thai origin.
The surface shows a layered, natural patina with dark brown bronze tones and green oxidation zones. No modern lacquer, artificial patina or later treatments observed. Construction, ornamentation and wear indicate a pre-industrial Sino-Himalayan or Tibetan-related workshop.
