Estimated value: €700 – €1,000. Nepalese Buddha seated on a lotus base and depicted with Abhaya mudra, the gesture of protection and reassurance. The sculpture is hollow-cast and made of a silver-colored copper alloy (white metal), not solid silver. Microscopic examination shows natural oxidation and prolonged wear, with visible remnants of original gilding in recessed and protected areas. This combination of white metal with partially worn gilding is characteristic of Nepalese production from the late 19th to early 20th century. The surface is free of modern coatings or restorations; UV examination shows only dust reaction. The robe is richly decorated with repeating motifs, and the face is serene and classically modeled. An authentic old devotional object for home worship. Nepal, approx. late 19th – early 20th century. Dimensions: height 28.3 cm, width 16.5 cm. Weight approximately 3 kg.
