This pair represents the absolute top segment of late Imperial Chinese bronze art. The identification as Pixiu is confirmed by the wing iconography and claw structure.
- Fire gilding: Authentic mercury gilding with significant thickness on the mane. Manual embossing visible under the gold layer.
- Enamel: Traditional 'pitting' in the turquoise pigments, indicating mineral composition and authentic kiln firing.
