This set of two Satsuma-style vases is crafted from fine ceramic and richly hand-painted with traditional Japanese motifs. The decorations depict figures in ceremonial attire, combined with floral patterns, gold accents, and relief details in moriage technique, characteristic of Satsuma work around the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The vases are intended as a symmetrical set and feature continuous scenes around their circumference, meticulously constructed with enamelled colours, gold paint, and raised details. The handles are plastically formed and integrated into the design, contributing to the sculptural character of the objects. The base bears a Japanese signature, typical of export and studio work from this period.

Satsuma-style vases were originally produced for both the Japanese elite and the international market and are known for their refined finish and narrative decorations. This set is highly decorative while clearly retaining its artisanal and historical character.

A characterful set for lovers of Japanese ceramics, Asian art, and meticulously crafted handwork.

Height: approx. 24.4 cm per vase
