Description
This Thai Naga Buddha statue depicts the Buddha protected by the serpent king Mucalinda, a powerful symbol of protection, enlightenment, and spiritual peace. The richly detailed Naga back, the layered throne base, and the gilded finish give the statue a strong, temple-like appearance.
The statue is cast in bronze and still shows clear remnants of gilding, with natural wear and dark accents that give the details extra depth. The interior displays core remnants consistent with traditional casting, which clearly distinguishes this piece from light modern decorative statues.
Due to its weight of 4 kg, generous dimensions, and rich iconography, this is a striking and powerful object for an interior, meditation space, altar, or serious collection of Asian art.
