This object, dating from the 20th century, is a magnificent example of Brutalist design in which the natural, whimsical forms of a solid burl wood form the basis for an abstract and mystical face mask.

Rough Organic Structure & Primitive Craftsmanship

This unique wall object is designed to make a powerful, rugged, and texture-rich statement in any high-end or modern interior:

• Abstract Root Anatomy: The front makes masterful use of the natural growths and knots of the wood. The three prominent bulbous shapes at the top suggest three 'all-seeing' eyes, while the deep, organic cavity at the bottom creates the impression of a wide-open, wrathful mouth.
• Craftsman's Drawmarks: The back provides irrefutable proof of pure craftsmanship. The heavy log has been hollowed out millimeter by millimeter with a traditional, primitive adze or gouge, leaving a beautiful and tangible scale pattern in the wood.
