Shiva

Shiva is one of the most important gods in Hinduism and is part of the Holy Trinity (Trimurti). He is known as both the destroyer and the renewer: by tearing down the old, he makes room for new creation. In his form as Nataraja, the cosmic dancer, he embodies the eternal cycle of the origin, existence, and decay of the universe.

His hair is often depicted as flowing wildly, from which the sacred Ganges River originates. This emphasizes his role as mediator between heaven and earth. The crescent moon in his hair refers to time and cyclical change.
